Ingredient detail
Ingredient context
Rosehip's clinical evidence is strongest in scar and post-surgical skin recovery, which is directly relevant to postpartum skin, including caesarean scars, even though GLOW itself is taken orally rather than applied topically. Its role in the formula is therefore best understood as complementary skin-recovery support rather than as a stand-alone treatment claim. Within GLOW, Rosehip sits alongside ingredients such as Centella and Sea Buckthorn as part of a broader approach to supporting stressed, recovering skin through antioxidant and structural skin-health pathways.
Evidence context
A comparative clinical trial in 108 patients with post-surgical scars found significantly better outcomes with twice-daily Rosehip Oil over six to twelve weeks compared with no additional treatment. Improvements were observed in erythema, discolouration and tissue atrophy, all of which are relevant markers when evaluating scar appearance and recovery. A systematic review of the available trials concluded that the evidence is genuinely promising, while also noting that the current research base is not yet abundant enough to recommend Rosehip as a stand-alone, first-line treatment. For that reason, GLOW includes Rosehip as a complementary support ingredient rather than building an independent therapeutic claim around it.
