Ingredient detail
Ingredient context
L-Methylfolate, the pre-activated, bioavailable form of folate, is dosed high at 750% RDA because postpartum folate stores decline sharply after delivery and remain depleted for months, particularly in women carrying the common MTHFR gene variant that reduces the body's ability to convert standard folic acid into its active form. Using the pre-converted L-Methylfolate sidesteps that conversion bottleneck entirely.
Evidence context
Emerging research, including a large prospective study following depressive symptoms from pregnancy through to 21 months postpartum, has linked adequate folate status to a reduced risk of low mood in the later postpartum period, with the protective effect most pronounced in women carrying the MTHFR variant. We want to be precise here: this is general nutritional research on folate status and mood, not a therapeutic claim for RESTORE itself.
