Ingredient detail
Ingredient context
Castor Oil is the honest outlier in the MIST formula. Its defining compound, ricinoleic acid, makes up roughly 85 to 90% of the oil and has well-documented anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity on the scalp. There is also a plausible mechanistic story involving ricinoleic acid's interaction with prostaglandin receptors that could, in theory, support the hair growth cycle.
Evidence context
No large-scale, rigorously controlled human trial has yet confirmed that Castor Oil directly stimulates new hair growth, and we do not claim otherwise. What the evidence does support clearly is Castor Oil's role as a scalp conditioner: it can help calm irritation and flaking, reduce breakage by coating the hair shaft, and create a more comfortable scalp environment for the other actives in MIST to work in. It earns its place in the formula as a supporting ingredient, not a headline one.
